What is a ISRC code?
The ISRC is the International Code of Identification of Sound and Audiovisual Recordings. It was developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) as a means of identifying sound and audiovisual recordings. Identify the ownership of the original recordings that are released to the public. If your songs don't have an ISRC code, Limbo Music will assign them to you for free.
Important: the ISRC is the "identity document" of the musical work, therefore it is very important do not to generate new codes for a song that already has them. In case of having them, the original codes must be used.
Should I use my own ISRC codes?
We recommend using your own ISRC codes managed by local institutions assigned for this purpose according to their country of origin, for example CAPIF in Argentina, AMPROFON in Mexico, AGEDI in Spain, IFPI in Chile, etc.
